Out of all her Parliamentary Committees, Jean spends the most time working on the Employment and Social Affairs Committee. There are many aspects of her work on employment which are closely linked to Jean’s work in London.  Jean was the Rapporteur (author) of a complex yet important report on the co-ordination of social security systems in Europe.

Jean joined a group of MEPs on a trip to a workshop in Kehl-Kork, Germany, for people who, due to the nature or severity of their disability, are not yet able to enter (or re-enter) the general labour market. The non-profit instutition offers work placements, therapeutical support and vocational training.
