MEP Jean Lambert tours Bexley recycling firm
Place: Grovesnor Waste Management,
Century Wharf, Crayford,
Time: Friday, January 23rd 2004, 11.45am
LONDONS Green Party MEP Jean Lambert visits Bexley tomorrow (Friday, January 23rd) during a tour of eco-industrial businesses and projects across the capital.
She will be shown around Crayford-based Grovesnor Waste Management, an Independent company specialising in collecting recyclable materials including paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, wood, metal and fibres for sorting and processing.
Mrs Lambert said: Londons got a real problem with its waste with one of the worst recycling records of any city in Europe. The London Remade project is about encouraging businesses and community projects to seek commercial solutions and contribute to a more sustainable waste strategy.
Grovesnor Waste management is an interesting example of London Remades environmental regeneration in action and I appreciate this opportunity to see for myself some of the pioneering work being done in Bexley.
Fridays eco-industry tour, which also takes the MEP to waste management firms in Greenwich and Havering, has been organised by London Remade, a partnership between local authorities, waste authorities, community and environment groups and the public sector, which aims to stimulate new jobs and investment based on Londons recycled waste. Mrs Lambert will be accompanied by London Remade director Colin Roberts.
