London’s Green MEP, Jean Lambert, today attended the grand opening of Dalston’s first solar installation – at the Print House on Ashwin Road. (1)
The Bootstrap Company has installed the largest solar installation of its kind in London – with the help of European Union funding. (2)
Commenting on the project, Jean said:
“With its new solar roof, the Print House is a fantastic demonstration of a truly green building, which will generate virtually all its own electricity needs. European funding helped make it happen.” (3)
Looking to the future, Jean added:
“With climate change threatening us with freak weather and environmental instability, it’s vital that as much energy as possible is generated by solar and wind power. This is a great start – but we need to speed up progress so we have buildings like this on every street. Greater Government action is needed to make this possible.”
