Jean often works on issues relating to third countries in the European Parliament, from calling for fair trade to protect the world’s poor, to supporting the Peace Cycle riders who highlight the plight of those living in conflict in Israel and Palestine. With her former fellow Green MEP, Caroline Lucas, now MP for Brighton Pavilion, Jean produced a publication detailing some of the highlights of their work entitled Peace and Human Rights: Green MEPs working for progress in the European Parliament. This covers the following topics:

Jean works with a wide range of organisations on international issues and recently received an endorsement from the Europe External Policy Advisors (EEPA), a Brussels-based centre of expertise on the EU’s external policies.

“Your work during the parliamentary term has contributed to the effectiveness of the European Parliament’s scrutiny and we hope that you will continue your involvement in development cooperation and humanitarian assistance in the future. We strongly believe that your particular commitment to South Asia has taken this issue forward and hope that our collaborative efforts have created a sustained interest in this issue.” From fair trade to the impact of climate change, to the plight of those living with conflict – Jean works on many international issues.
