Jean often works on issues relating to third countries in the European Parliament, from calling for fair trade to protect the world’s poor, to supporting the Peace Cycle riders who highlight the plight of those living in conflict in Israel and Palestine. Jean was an ardent opponent of the war in Iraq and she continues to speak out for those who have been forced to flee their homes and who have lost loved ones as a result of the continuing violence.<\/p>\n

Jean frequently speaks out in the Parliament for the Green on issues relating to human rights and democracy in third countries. With her former fellow Green MEP, Caroline Lucas, now MP for Brighton Pavilion, Jean produced a publication detailing some of the highlights of their work entitled Peace and Human Rights: Green MEPs working for progress in the European Parliament<\/a>.
