Greens believe in affordable, safe and environmentally sustainable transport solutions. People should be able to walk or cycle safely for short journeys and should have positive public transport options for longer distances to help reduce the demand for aviation.<\/p>\n

To tackle climate change people must be provided with affordable, safe and comfortable public transport options. Greens will always push for transport options that allow people to get about safely without having a negative impact on the environment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jean has campaigned actively for safer streets in London – with lower speed limits on the capital’s roads, and priority given to cyclists and pedestrians. She has opposed any expansion of the aviation industry and campaigned against a new runway being built at Heathrow.<\/p>\n

Railways<\/h3>\n

With rail fares soaring and wages stagnating Jean has been a keen advocate of a radical shake up of the UK\u2019s railways. She has campaigned with constituents against rail fare hikes and supported fellow Greens in calling for railways to be brought back into public ownership.<\/p>\n

Jean also actively opposes HS2 which is set to run through her constituency. Although Greens support high speed rail in principle, Jean is opposing HS2 because of its escalating costs and potentially serious impact on the British countryside.<\/p>\n
